Described as the "bird of curves", the wyandotte is round, clean-legged, rose-combed, dual purpose bird that is a good layer & table bird.  They are equally happy in confinement or out foraging.  They are a robust, hardy breed that handles cold very well.
Origins and History:
Behavior: The wyandotte is a quiet, docile, friendly bird that gets on well with other breeds.  They are well suited to the domestic, family environment.
Rarity: Some varieties are rare incl. blue, buff, blue-laced & red.
